Singapore (CNY) ~ Jan 30 - Feb 2, 2014

Off to Singapore we go to celebrate Chinese New Year (Year of the Horse ). We met up with our wonderful friends from the Philippines the Huehnes. Singapore is beautiful and clean. I could stay here forever. As to be expected we were jet lagged but there were plenty of memory making moments ahead of us so no time to waste. To start off, our first morning was spent walking in circles since "H" was bent on leading the way. What was supposed to be a 5 min walk to the mall turned into 45 min. Of course we went the wrong way coming back as well because "H" was using google map for driving directions/route instead of walking routes. We definitely got our exercise in that weekend. And it never fails..."W" had to have two shots in the buttocks due to respiratory infection so we didn't do much except enjoying high tea w/ unlimited champagne in the lounge. Our last day was spent exploring Marina Bay Sands area. Nice big mall w/ a casino inside but we skipped that since I didn't have my passport with me :-( I guess "W" forgot to mention that to me. Off we go to ride the Singapore Flyer. Awesome experience seeing the city from up top. Afterwards we had lunch at the local food court which was not too bad. Got to be adventurous & try out new things. That is how life should be lived. Our last night was spent quietly w/ the Huehnes since we had an early flight out first thing in the morning. "H" took us to Clarke Quay and we dined at an Indochine Restaurant, enjoying Laos, Cambodian & Vietnamese cuisine. We also browsed the bars on the street before heading out. This was a short vacation but it was still nice to get away & relax...especially w/ good friends. Photos > https://plus.google.com/photos/114179084983327300450/albums/5978437550200120897

Chihuly Night ~ Dallas Arboretum

We decided it was time to be a little artsy fartsy.  Michael & Komonh ran a race Tour de Fleurs 2012 a month ago & received complimentary tickets to the Internationally acclaimed artist Dale Chihuly Exhibition at the Dallas Arboretum.  It was a chilly night & a long walk in the garden with my heels but that didn't stop me from enjoying what I love most...Art.  There were so many people just out and about enjoying the fall foliage, nationally acclaimed Pumpkin Village (50,000 + pumpkins & gourds), Cinderella's Carriage & small houses of great artists such as O'Keefe, Van Gogh, Seurat, Picasso & Monet.  Even though the guys didn't show much interest in the artwork I believe they did enjoy themselves a little. They just want to get it over with & thinking of FOOD.  We finished off the night with dinner @ Royal Thai, another favorite:-)

Corporate Challenge ~ Basketball

Go Team Esurance!  We put up a good fight but it wasn't enough!  Last year we medaled Gold but this year wasn't a go.  This is a new & young team so hopefully it will be better for us next year.  At least we had a taste of what's to come.

Love is..."patient, love is kind, and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in unrighteousness". There is nothing more beautiful than LOVE. Congratulations to Yunie & Mark as they embark on a their new adventure together.

Erica & Victor's Wedding ~ 10.29.11

Weddings are always fun! Great chance to meet up with old friends & making new ones as well. One of Michael's SxSW buddies is getting married so Houston here we come! Picked up Founa & Doug at the airport & wait for Rusty @ a Sushi joint for lunch. After checking in us ladies went browsing the mall while the boys went to pick up Jim & Michelle. We meet up w/ Victor and his friend from FL @ Kona for dinner before the boys go on there Bachelor party. Great nite for Michael & I since that was the nite the Cardinals won the World Series! Felt bad since I was the only one who was cheering in a crowd full of Rangers fan:-( I would cheer for the Rangers too if not for Michael. Wedding was beautiful...intimate event. I wish the veriest best for the new couple on their journey together.

Malay's Birthday Dinner @ Fin Sushi

I want to thank all my family & friends who were able to come help me celebrate my birthday. Truly I count myself very lucky to be in good health but also blessed with such wonderful people. Thanks to my "lil bro" manager @ Fin who set us up in the VIP section & his great staff who provided great services:-) But the most important person in my life...there are no words to describe how great a husband you are. And you even pulled a "Jeff" stunt on me:-) Photo Album-->https://picasaweb.google.com/malaywade/MalaySBdayDinner?feat=directlink

Linda's 40th ~ Painting the Town "PO-PO"

In honor of Linda we wanted to paint Sin City "Po-Po''. These are lifelong friends & for some of us the relationship goes back to our parents. Each of us are different but we have all remain true to our friendship. I will not mention the the many activities that we took part in since what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. All I can say is that I am truly blessed to have such great people in my life.

Da Endorphine Concert ~ 10.29.10

Fantastic 4 at it again! First time I heard of this Thai singer Da (thx to my bestie) & she did an awesome job performing. She was petite...kinda surprised since in her vids she look tall! Of course the night was just about us ladies enjoying oursselves & having fun! The crowd was something else...leaves much to be desired! We made up to the front & being my luck I got felt many times by cold hands on my shoulder since everyone wanted to get up close & personal. To top off the night Many almost got into a bodyslam contest w/ this big girl over a t-shirt Da thru to the crowd as gifts. Was hilarious to see cuz after the tug of war I can see from the corner of my eye those two big girls next to Many were eyeballing her. LMAO! Would be hilarious if there was a brawl...but we were prepared. We might look all prim & beautiful:-) but we got our boots on, plus a lil of ghetto-nasty in us (if we must:-) Another good memory to store away for later years;-)

Nuvo Concert 9.11.10

Going back in time...or at least back to the 80's. Nuvo was in town. Thai Band, very popular back then but I only know one song hehehe. But who cares when you are in good company...especially w/ our crew. Had a blast, met up w/ old friends & even got a flashing bracelet for complimenting how awesome it was:-) Good times!

Laos New Year 2010 ~ Rockwall Temple

Happy New Year everyone (Soak Dee Pi Mai took kone)! My first Laos New Year back from living overseas was not as great as I had anticipated. Our group headed out to Rockwall Temple about 4pm. We stopped @ Krogers to pick up some roses & flowers for my grandmother who had passed away 10 yrs ago & also for Abe, our dear friend who's life was stripped away while in his prime. The whole day was cloudy & sprinkling & sure enough just when the dancers were about to make their appearances the rain started pouring down. The show had to be postponed til the rain die out but that was wishful thinking so they moved the show inside. Not much pictures were taken due to the bad weather:-( But I did enjoyed the good food, afterall that was mainly my reason for going;-) We didn't make it out for Sunday's Parade, it was raining so I know it was going to be a muddy mess plus by the time I was going my family either left or were leaving. Hopefully next week's celebration in Saginaw will be nice...
