Singapore (CNY) ~ Jan 30 - Feb 2, 2014
Off to Singapore we go to celebrate Chinese New Year (Year of the Horse ). We met up with our wonderful friends from the Philippines the Huehnes. Singapore is beautiful and clean. I could stay here forever. As to be expected we were jet lagged but there were plenty of memory making moments ahead of us so no time to waste. To start off, our first morning was spent walking in circles since "H" was bent on leading the way. What was supposed to be a 5 min walk to the mall turned into 45 min. Of course we went the wrong way coming back as well because "H" was using google map for driving directions/route instead of walking routes. We definitely got our exercise in that weekend. And it never fails..."W" had to have two shots in the buttocks due to respiratory infection so we didn't do much except enjoying high tea w/ unlimited champagne in the lounge. Our last day was spent exploring Marina Bay Sands area. Nice big mall w/ a casino inside but we skipped that since I didn't have my passport with me :-( I guess "W" forgot to mention that to me. Off we go to ride the Singapore Flyer. Awesome experience seeing the city from up top. Afterwards we had lunch at the local food court which was not too bad. Got to be adventurous & try out new things. That is how life should be lived. Our last night was spent quietly w/ the Huehnes since we had an early flight out first thing in the morning. "H" took us to Clarke Quay and we dined at an Indochine Restaurant, enjoying Laos, Cambodian & Vietnamese cuisine. We also browsed the bars on the street before heading out. This was a short vacation but it was still nice to get away & relax...especially w/ good friends.
